Things I'm into in June

Michelle June 30, 2015

I found a draft in my blog folder titled "Things I'm into in June" from 2012.

Seems back then I was into reading, hot water bottles, baking, sugar, and West Wing episodes. I guess times don't change much except now I'm "into" The Newsroom and watching the the world's strongest man competition which might not as far from the White House as you might think.

While I'm currently reading a book about Content Strategy, I have recently downloaded I know why the caged bird sings by Maya Angelou and hope to start that this weekend.

I've upgraded my hot water bottle for an electric blanket. Toasting up my bed before getting into it is my new jam. Trouble is I often need to fight one fat tabby cat and one needy Jack Russell dog for space because they're pretty keen on electric blankets now too.

I'm not so much into sugar and I've not done any baking for some time - but I'm sure that won't last long because I do love a freshly baked banana cake.

This month I have blogged every day.

I'm not sure I've ever done that before. Oh sure, I've signed up and promised it many times, but to actually have completed it? I am sure this is the first time I've managed it.

One of the reasons I think I managed it was because I remembered what it was like to blog back in the olden days - when I just typed and didn't over think anything. That probably doesn't make for a good outcome for you, Dear Reader, but it sure meant I had a good time :)

Well done, #blogjune. See you next year.

So, what's happening?

Michelle June 29, 2015

I’m reading – bits of a number of books and not putting much of a dent in my reading challenge. The focus this week is to complete Kristina Halvorson’s Content Strategy for the Web.

I’m watching – planner videos planner videos planner videos. I think I’m over saturated with the subject but it doesn’t mean I’m stopping any time soon.

I’m cooking – up a scheme to take the pain out of dinner time.

I’m drinking – besides coffee, I’ve bought a really nice tasting tea from T2 which is fun to brew and lovely to drink from a porcelain tumbler.

I’m thinking – about updating my CV/decorating planners/centralising content teams/about making more vlogs/why I don’t draw more.

I’m taking – a hot water bottle to bed.

I’m missing – open fires and cosy houses.

I’m enjoying – colouring-in and cutting-out.

I’m planning – a trip to Melbourne with my sister and cousins in July.

I’m listening – to podcasts (Call Your Girlfriend, Unfinished Business, Roderick on the Line).

My current obsession is decorating planners. That means I’m sticking pretty paper to planner section dividers and thinking about embellishing month-on-two-page layouts and putting stickers on daily to-do lists all. the. time.

I don’t even have much to plan, really. I do want to make my meagre social-life attractive on the page though. Watching videos on the subject, enrolling in online classes, talking to my sister (who is extremely tolerant of my enthusiasm), buying discounted scrapbooking supplies to supplement my crafting stash, makes me feel pretty happy.

My buddy Toothless here, woke me up at 2.50am watching tv in the living room. He had the volume at an increasingly inconsiderate level. So i took the remote from him and turned tv off and told him to go. To. Sleep. Not on the remote this time.
